V-Steam FAQs

Posted by Brittany McDonald on

If you have never heard of the V-Steam it may be possible that you are unsure of what it is exactly, how it works, or what it is used for. Or on the other hand, if you have heard of the V-Steam but you are not sure of why you should get it or why it would be important for you and your body.
As a woman, it is known that it is best to avoid soaps, body washes, lotions, and douches in the vaginal area which may contain irritating chemicals that can cause a woman's pH balance to be thrown off in her vagina. Vaginal steam treatment or v-steam, is an all-natural way to rejuvenate, balance, and keep your vagina healthy.
What is the V-Steam you ask?
Originally called “Chai-yok” in ancient Korean cultures, the V-steam is used by individuals, mainly women, to take out the impurity of their body. Back then, it was customary that V-steams be done at wellness centers and was required for clients to be fully naked for 45 minutes on an open seated stool that had a pot of steaming hot water which was filled with both medicine and aromatic herbs such as Rosemary wormwood and basil - all depending on the client's needs.
Today, v-steams can be in wellness centers as well as in the comfort of your own home! The most common ways to use the V-Steam is the toilet bowl method, a comforting hot bath, or even the use of a chair.
It is easy to rejuvenate your vagina with the V-Steam!
The V-Steam is a blend of up to 30 herbs including Rosemary, Oregano, Marigold, Basil, Rose Petals, Parsley, Motherwort, Yarrow, Damiana leaf, Lavender, Comfrey leaf, Marjoram, Red Clover, Chamomile, Mugwort, Wormwood, Plantain leaf, Thyme, Sage, Red Raspberry Leaf, Peppermint, Yellow Dock, Shepherd's Purse and Horsetail.. All of these herbs work together to create both cleansing and healing properties in your body.
Using the V-steam in a bath as a therapy can be used to relieve pain, inflammation, hemorrhoids, and more.
What is the purpose of the V-Steam?
The V-Steam works as an aid to your body and as an internal cleanser of the membranes of the vaginal tissues and the uterus. They also provide menstrual support, eliminate yeast infections and other vaginal bacteria, increase cervical fluids, relax vaginal canal and cervix, nourish and tone the uterine lining, prevent and ease bladder and kidney stones and more.

DIRECTIONS COME WITH ALL ORDERS

How long until I feel results?

Immediately after ONE use you should feel cleansed and tightened, etc. For specific health concerns, its based on your body, so monitor your condition per use.

How OFTEN should I steam?

You can use the V-Steam as often as you like as long as you cycle isn't on!

Do you sell the bowl for the toilet?

No, any images you see promoted are customers own creativity. You can use any bowl or pot that will fit your toilet.

How do I use the herbs in the bath tub?

The current portions we sell are best for the toilet bowl method. Soon we will offer a bath soak.

Is the V-Steam safe to use during pregnancy?

It is not recommended to use while pregnant but check with your doctor before usI personally recommend using the V-Steam Herbs after labor and full healing but some expert herbalist say that you can use it in the third trimester because it’s a little more safe since it nourishes the uterus and cervix and may make labor easier. But if used too early it can make the uterus contract in the beginning of pregnancy. It's up to you and your doctor for the best decision.

What if I am taking birth control pills?

Please check with your doctor before use.

How long after birth can I use the V-Steam?

We recommend use right away as long as no menses is present. Do not V-Steam if bleeding is occurring.

How long should I wait to have intercourse?

There is no wait after a V-Steam session to have intercourse

Why isn't it recommended that women with an Intrauterine Device (IUD) do a V-Steam?

It is not recommended for women with any kind of IUD to use the V-Steam because the medicinal properties of the herbs are intended to cause the uterus to contract and shed its lining. When an IUD is present, you risk causing the uterine tissue to shed or contract in such a way that it could dislodge, shift or expel the IUD. Some women with IUDs have tried the V-Steam and have reported great results, including reduced cramps during menstruation. Even though we don't recommend it, you may do so at your discretion or confirm with your doctor.

What if I had a partial or total hysterectomy. Are there any benefits of vaginal steaming for me?

Yoni steaming is great for all aspects of female health, so it can definitely still be beneficial for you! Although all or part of the physical uterus may have been removed, the energetic center remains and can benefit from the warmth and clearing. Steaming is also great for increasing circulation, eliminating odor and eliminating bacterial infections such as yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, cervicitis and Trichomoniasis (according to the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism). Of course it is also a wonderful way to relax and pamper yourself, which is always a lovely benefit.

Isn't it a contradiction to steam if I have a bacterial infection (i.e. bladder infection, yeast infection, or bacterial vaginosis)?

On one hand, some say it is a contradiction to steam with any kind of bacterial infection because, in general, introducing heat and moisture to a bacterial infection is not the best way to treat it, and may make it worse. On the other hand, if you are using antimicrobial (anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal) herbs like mugwort, rosemary, and lavender (which are all contained in the V-Steam), the properties of which are carried by the steam into the pores, then you may actually be effectively treating the infection by killing the microbes that cause it.. We have heard several testimonials from women who have experienced rapid and thorough relief from yeast infections, bladder infections and bacterial vaginosis using the V-Steam. So while you want to monitor your symptoms carefully to ensure they are not worsening, the steam is worth a try if you are experiencing chronic symptoms.
